South Africa received a massive setback ahead of their ODI series against Australia with their star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada ruled out of the series with a groin injury. The talented pacer will also miss the upcoming series against India. Meanwhile, the Proteas will be keen to redeem themselves in the ODIs after a humiliating defeat in the T20Is against the Aussies.
The 24-year-old sustained a groin strain during the recently-concluded T20I series against Australia. The injury has ruled Kagiso Rabada out of action for four weeks. However, it is likely that he will regain his fitness before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on March 29. Delhi Capitals, though, play their game a day later.

Cricket South Africa Chief Medical Officer, Dr Shuaib Manjra revealed the nature of Kagiso Rabada's injury and stated that he will be out of action for almost four weeks. The pacer will start his rehabilitation under the watchful eyes of the CSA support staffs. Meanwhile, South Africa have not named any replacement of Rabada.
"Kagiso (Rabada) sustained a groin muscle strain in the T20 series against Australia, he was assessed by the medical staff, assisted by an MRI scan. The significant injury means that he will take approximately four weeks to heal, which effectively rules him out of both the Australia and India ODI series," Manjra, said. "The CSA medical staff will ensure his effective and expeditious recovery," he added.
Meanwhile, Temba Bavuma has recovered from his hamstring injury and will be available for the ODI series against Australia. Notably, he missed the T20Is due to the injury. The three-match ODI series starts later today at the Boland Park in Paarl.
