Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni has landed at the Chennai airport to begin his training for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The legendary cricketer, who has been out of action for almost eight months will look to hit the strides when Chennai lock horns with defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener at the Wankhede Stadium on March 29.
Dhoni had made him unavailable from cricket since India’s ouster from the semifinals of the ICC World Cup losing to New Zealand. The cricketer from Ranchi had poor returns in the premier tournament in England and decided to take a sabbatical. During this period, the veteran cricketer worked with the Army in August. He also played an amateur golf tournament in the USA and took part in a charity football match.

MS Dhoni lands in Chennai
There has been a lot of speculations going around about MS Dhoni's retirement. However, the former India skipper is yet to utter a word on his career. While many have ruled out Dhoni's return to the Indian team, the veteran wicket-keeper batsman will be eyeing the IPL to come back for the final time with the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia lined up later this year.
In a bid to return to training for the mega event, MS Dhoni has arrived in Chennai and will hit the ground today. Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and latest recruit Piyush Chawla too are in the city and will train alongside Dhoni. The Super Kings shared a video of Dhoni coming out of the airport from their official Twitter handle. A yellow flower bouquet was handed to Dhoni upon his arrival to his second home.
