The left-arm leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav immediately shot to fame after his international debut. However, his stocks have gone down and is no more a regular starter in the team across the formats. A dip in form has resulted in his ouster from the playing XI. However, with the ICC T20 World Cup lined up later this year, Kuldeep will hope to have a great Indian Premier League to seal his berth in the squad.
Amid the presence of Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, and Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep has lost his place. He has largely warmed the benches playing only one game in the entire New Zealand tour comprising of five T20Is and three ODIs. In the only 50-over game, Kuldeep Yadav has played, he shelled out 84 runs scalping two wickets.

However, with the Indian Premier League (IPL) on the cards, Kuldeep is keen to make a strong statement to return to the India setup. The young spinner, who will ply his trade for the Kolkata Knight Riders will look to be at the top of his game and cement his place in the T20Is side with the World T20 within the sight.
"IPL is such a platform which changes every year. You need to be active every time and adapt to the changes. I am right now fully prepared for IPL. I got plenty of time to plan also. IPL is very important (for making a comeback in Indian team)," he said on the sidelines of the fourth Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA) to PTI.
Furthermore, speaking on his recent ouster from the sid, Kuldeep Yadav refused to accept that it is his performance which made him out of the playing XI. Instead, the cricketer from Uttar Pradesh feels it is due to the combinations he had to sit out in New Zealand.
"I don't feel anything went wrong. It depends on combination. In New Zealand the wickets were quite different, you might have seen that there were no spin tracks in Tests. Moreover, it was not a long Test series as well," he concluded.
