Former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra recently took on a Pakistani fan who slammed India after their humiliating defeat against Australia in the finals of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 at the Melbourne Cricket Academy. Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney struck the highest scores in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final history, and Megan Schutt took four wickets as record-breaking Australia secured a fifth title on home soil.
The opening pair put on 115 for Australia and never looked back, with Healy (75) lighting up Melbourne, who witnessed a record-breaking attendance of 86,174, with a jaw-dropping display. India’s bid to chase 185 was always going to be difficult, with leading wicket-taker Schutt taking the first four-wicket haul in a final to restrict Harmanpreet Kaur’s side to 99 all out.

Soon after India's defeat, the cricketer-turned commentator Aakash Chopra came in support of the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side, who has played some outstanding cricket throughout the tournament. Chopra pointed out that both India and Australia lost only one match throughout the Women’s T20 World Cup campaign and both teams beat each other once but Australia prevailed in the big final on Sunday.
"India lost only one game in the tournament. So did Australia. Both teams lost to each other. India beat Aus in the tournament opener. Australia beat India in the finals. Such is life….," Aakash Chopra tweeted.

It was then when a Pakistani fan jumped to take a sly dig at Aakash Chopra pointing out that the situation was similar in Champions Trophy 2017 wherein India beat Pakistan in the group stages before losing the final to their arch-rivals at the Oval in London.
Meanwhile, the comment backfired as Aakash Chopra was in no mood to take the reply lightly and gave it back. He questioned how many times Pakistan managed to reach the knockout stages of a major tournament since their 2017 Champions Trophy victory.
“How many knockouts did your team play since that final? Men and Women included. Jinke ghar sheeshe ke hote hain voh light jala ke kapde nahin badalte, dost (Those who live in glass houses don’t change their clothes with lights on, my friend),” Aakash Chopra wrote.
