The first one-day internationals of the three-match series between India and South Africa on March 12 (Thursday) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala has been called off with a ball being bowled due to inclement weather condition. The match officials waited for the final cut-off time before abandoning the match.
It started with a wet outfield that yesterday’s downpour left behind, and it’s ended in a sort of waterlogging. So from that T20 in September to an ODI in March, global warming and unseasonal rain have the final say. The rain gods played with the cricket lovers as it went off and again came down heavily leaving the cricketers from both the sides in balcony waiting.

The match officials inspected the ground a couple of times but all went in vain with the rain coming back continuously. Finally, they abandoned the game after taking the final note. It was always there on the cards and it happened keeping the fans waited.
All eyes will now shift to Lucknow on March 15 (Sunday) where some game is expected in front of empty stands in the wake of the novel coronavirus. Meanwhile, the Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the third and the final match of the series on March 18 (Wednesday).

Meanwhile, Team India will be itching to get back on the grounds after suffering a humiliating defeat against New Zealand in the ODIs followed by two Tests. Virat Kohli & his men will look to make amend and come back stronger than ever before. Moreover, this series will also witness the return of swashbuckling all-rounder Hardik Pandya alongside Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
