The former Team India skipper MS Dhoni has been out of the side since the ICC World Cup 2019 defeat against New Zealand in the semifinal. Dhoni endured a poor run with the bat which also took a toll on his wicket-keeping and decided to go on a sabbatical.
Since then, he has been out of the side with Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul sharing the duties of that of a wicket-keeper. While Pant was tipped as Dhoni’s successor, the youngster has failed to live up the hype and lost his place during the series against Australia earlier this year. Since then, the makeshift wicket-keeper batsman Rahul has looked settled in that spot.

There has been a lot spoken over MS Dhoni’s return to international cricket and his retirement. However, the cricketer is yet to reveal a word on that topic. It was anticipated that Dhoni might return to the national side on the back of the IPL, but the fans will have to wait longer with the cash-rich league postponed in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
MS Dhoni also joined Chennai Super Kings training from March 2 to gear up for the 13th season of IPL. But with the season postponed until April 15, the Super Kings have called off the training. At the speculations continue to rise, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared an old picture of MS Dhoni when he was smiling and was all happy.
