Lucknow Super Giants stunned Rajasthan Royals in a low-scoring match played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 19 April 2023 in the IPL 2023. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson produced brilliant glovework to run out Nicolas Pooran in the final over of the Lucknow Super Giants innings. Nicolas Pooran was trying for a bye, but Samson produced a brilliant throw.
RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to field first. KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers started cautiously in the first six overs scoring just 37 runs in the first six overs. LSG openers added 82 runs for the opening wicket laying a strong foundation for a decent total on a slow pitch.
KL Rahul was dismissed caught at long-on. RR kept pegging back LSG picking wickets at regular intervals. Kyle Mayers was the top scorer for LSG with 51. Nicolas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis added 45 runs for the 5th wicket. At the end of 20 overs, Lucknow Super Giants managed 154 for 7 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals could not chase down the target.
Rajasthan Royals openers Yashvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler started cautiously initially before putting pressure on LSG bowlers with an attacking mindset. At the end of the first six overs, RR made 47 for 0.
After the field restrictions, Buttler and Jaiswal maintained the momentum for RR keeping the scoreboard ticking. Stoinis struck for LSG getting rid of Jaiswal caught by Avesh Khan. Buttler and Jaiswal added 87 runs.
The fortune changed for RR as they lost the wickets of Sanju Samson with a mix-up. Soon after, Jos Buttler was caught by Ravi Bishnoi. Devdutt Paddikal came as an impact player and struggled with the timing on a slow pitch.
Hetymer was dismissed caught by KL Rahul to change the momentum in favour of LSG. Paddikal and Parag showed some fire to put pressure on LSG bowlers. With 20 runs required, Avesh delivered the goods dismissing Paddikal and Jurel off successive deliveries. Paddikal and Jurel added 37 runs for the 5th wicket. It was a great effort as LSG won the match by 10 runs.
