Social media users believe that Amir meant more when he made the statement than just to express his congratulations to a fierce rival.
Instead, many have interpreted this as the former Pakistan fast bowler’s most recent jab at the team’s talisman. And captain Babar Azam, with whom he is rumoured to have a tense relationship.
