England all-rounder Moeen Ali got a crucial breakthrough for Australia in the first Test of the 2023 Ashes on Tuesday, June 20 at The Edgbaston in Birmingham. He dismissed the in-form Australian batter Travis Head with a brilliant delivery in the fourth innings of the match. His dismissal was a key moment on the thrilling final day of the first test match.

Travis Head walked out to bat after the fall of Scott Boland as Australia was at 121 runs for the loss of four wickets. They needed 159 runs to win the first of the five Test matches. Head was looking to get set at the crease, as he scored 16 runs with three boundaries. However, he failed to stay longer and get a big score in the innings.

In the forty-fifth over of the innings, Moeen Ali bowled a floated delivery from round the wicket. The ball landed on a good length and drifted in. Travis Head was completely squared up as he went on the back foot. He edged the delivery to the slip fielder, Joe Root, who took a good catch. Australian innings faced a setback with Travis Head’s dismissal.

Stuart Broad bowled a length ball to Marnus, which swung away from the batter. The Australia cricketer held his bat out and edged the ball to Jonny Bairstow. Meanwhile, Steve Smith got off to a full outside off-stump delivery, edging to the wicket-keeper. The two dismissals kept England in the match.
