The leading position in terms of catches is held by former Indian legend and current coach Rahul Dravid, with a remarkable 210 catches throughout his illustrious career.
Known for his reliability and versatility in the field, Root has excelled as a slip or gully fielder behind the wicket and has demonstrated prowess inside and outside the 30-yard circle.
In addition to his catches in Test cricket, he has also taken 96 catches in white-ball cricket for England.
Currently, Root holds the highest position among batsmen in the ICC Test rankings.
He has achieved this feat after his remarkable unbeaten century in the first Test at Edgbaston.
