Team India batter Shreyas Iyer is training hard as he eyes comeback to the team following a long injury layoff. He has turned to Pilates on the road to recovery, as shared by Pilates coach MD Sufiyan on Instagram.
Shreyas Iyer has been out of action for a long time, due to injury and will be keen to make a comeback to Team India soon. The right-handed batter underwent successful surgery in London earlier this year to treat his back injury. He missed several matches, including the World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final against Australia.
He also missed the Indian Premier League 202 season for Kolkata Knight Riders. Shreyas Iyer is now undergoing rehabilitation. Pilates coach MD Sufiyan shared a video on his Instagram handle on Wednesday, August 2 of the cricketer practising Pilates.

Shreyas Iyer unlikely to be fit for Asia Cup 2023
Team India batter Shreyas Iyer is unlikely to play in the 2023 Asia Cup, as per a report in Cricbuzz. Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) indicated that the batter has not sufficiently recovered to be considered for the tournament.
Asia Cup will take place from August 30 to September 17. Along with Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul too is unlikely to get fit for the tournament. Both, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have been sharing their fitness updates with their fans on social media, who are eager to see them back.
The duo might make a comeback during the three-ODI series against Australia in September. If they fail to get fit before the series, it will be a huge blow to India’s preparations for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup which will be taking place later this year in October-November in India.
