The former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh will go down as one of the greatest match-finishers in the history of Indian cricket. His service to the nation including the 2007 World T20 and ICC World Cup 2011 will forever be etched in the hearts of the cricket lovers.
The flamboyant left-handed batsman from Punjab bursts out of the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy where Sourav Ganguly-led Team India finished runners-up to New Zealand. He took the Australian bowling comprising of Brett Lee, Glenn McGrath, and Jason Gillespie to cleaners only at the age of 18 years.

Yuvraj Singh made a name for himself despite playing alongside the legends of the game – Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid. His rich skillset and hunger to do well, paid dividends which made Yuvraj into a cult figure in Indian cricket.
The cricketer, who retired last year, in an Instagram Live chat with Rohit Sharma opined that the current generation of cricketers is not taking a cue from the previous generations. He also expressed that there are not many role models to look up to in the current Indian side.
“When I came into the team or when you (Rohit) came into the team, our seniors were very disciplined. Obviously there was no social media so there were no distractions. There was a certain behaviour that we boys had to carry, how they talk to people, how they talk to media. Because they were the ambassadors of the game and India,” Yuvraj told Rohit on Tuesday.Â

“So that is what I had told you guys. After playing for India, you have to be more careful about your image. But I feel the third generation. There are only you two seniors, Virat and you, who are playing all the formats, rest of the guys are coming and going,” he added.Â
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma share a great bond and the veteran all-rounder plied his trade under Rohit in the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League before calling time on his career.
