In the lead-up to the 2023 World Cup, experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin secured a spot in Team India’s 15-member squad, taking the place of Axar Patel, who was sidelined due to a quadriceps injury.
To celebrate Ashwin’s inclusion in the squad, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) took to social media and shared a humorous video featuring a face swap between Ashwin and Thalapathy Vijay, using scenes from the popular Tamil film ‘Master’.
The video also showcased captain Rohit Sharma and veteran batsman Virat Kohli, thanks to the face swap tool. The Rajasthan-based team provided a caption for the post: “Mission 2023 World Cup: Enter Ash Anna! 🇮🇳🫡.”

Ravichandran Ashwin initially did not find a place in India’s preliminary squad for the 2023 World Cup. However, Axar Patel’s injury during the Super 4’s match against Bangladesh in the 2023 Asia Cup prompted the team management to bring back the experienced campaigner to the ODI team.
Ashwin marked his return to ODI cricket in the recent three-match home series against Australia. In the first game, he secured a solitary wicket. He gained significant attention for his excellent bowling performance in the second match, where he took three wickets.
