England

Australia will look to continue their winning form as they face England to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 4th November 2023. It promises to be an exciting battle between two contrasting teams.

Australia will miss the services of Mitchell Marsh and Maxwell for this match due to several reasons. On the other hand, England would look to salvage some pride as they need wins to qualify for the 2025 Champions Trophy to be played in Pakistan.

Australia has been on a roll with their batting posting huge totals while England struggling with all-round performances.

Both teams have top-quality performers who can change the course of the game with their abilities and help their countries register victory.

Here we look at the 5 Players To Watch Out For

  1. Travis Head

Travis Head made his comeback into the playing in the previous match against New Zealand. He showed intent right from the word go putting pressure on Kiwi bowling. It was an exceptional batting effort by Head smashing them all over the park along with David Warner in the first 10 overs scoring 118 runs.

He continued to dominate and scored a century laying a strong foundation for Australia to post a mammoth total. Head has a brilliant record in ODIs against England with 652 runs from 13 matches including 1 century and 6 half-centuries to his name including best score of 152.

Head would be looking to provide another attacking start against England bowlers laying a strong foundation to help Australia post or chase down the target.

  1. Dawid Malan

The stylish left-handed batter Dawid Malan looked in decent touch against India at Lucknow. He showed intent against new Indian ball bowlers but could not convert it into a big score.

He has not been in great form during this tournament so far while opening the innings. During the 3 matches he played against Australia, Malan scored 136 runs including the best score of 134.

Malan would be eager to provide attacking starts in the first 10 overs against the Australian pace bowling that will ensure that England could post or chase down a much-needed win.

  1. Marcus Stoinis

Marcus Stoinis will be returning to the playing XI as Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the match against England. Stoinis did not feature in a previous match against New Zealand.

He would be eager to perform well with both bat and ball. Stoinis has a decent record against England with bat scoring 390 runs from 19 matches (18 innings) including best score 87 with 3 half-centuries to his name. He has struggled with the ball picking up only 7 wickets from 19 matches at an economy of 6.38 runs per over.

Stoinis would be looking to prove his worth with both bat and ball helping Australia to garner 2 valuable points.

  1. Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid had a decent spell in the previous match against India at Lucknow. He bowled with great control not allowing the Indian batters to score runs freely. It was a good spell of bowling by Rashid and picked an important wicket for Rohit Sharma.

He would be looking to prove his worth with wickets in the middle overs against a strong Australian batting order. Rashid has a decent record against Australia with 45 wickets from 25 matches at an economy of 5.78 runs with best figures of 4 for 41.

Rashid would be looking for a good performance and help England register their 2nd win of the tournament.

  1. Adam Zampa

Adam Zampa showed his composure with a match-winning effort against New Zealand in a high-scoring affair at Dharmshala. He impressed with his variations dismissing Darly Mitchell put brakes on the New Zealand batting.

Zampa then got rid of Latham and got the vital wicket of Mitchell Santer. He ended with figures of 3 for 74 in 10 overs helping Australia to stem the flow and keep Australia on track for a close-fought win.

The leg spinner has a great record against England in the ODI format with 23 wickets from 11 matches at an economy of 5.41 runs per over and best figures of 4 for 31. He would be looking to continue his winning form as there will not be any support from the other end.
