The Rajasthan Royals have traded batter Devdutt Padikkal to the Lucknow Super Giants for pacer Avesh Khan during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 trading window. The franchises made an official announcement on Wednesday, November 22 through social media. This is the second trade ahead of the 2024 IPL auctions.
Devdutt Padikkal was signed by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 7.75 crore in the 2022 mega auction. He has slammed 637 runs for the franchise in 28 matches at an average of less than 25, with three fifties. Overall, Padikkal has scored 1521 runs at an average of 27.65, including a century in the Indian Premier League.
On the other hand, Avesh Khan was signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for INR 10 crore. He had a good 2022 season, but couldn’t back it up in the following edition. Avesh took just eight wickets in nine matches in the 2023 Indian Premier League season. The pacer has taken 55 wickets in 47 matches in the tournament, at an economy rate of 8.64.
Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants in mutual agreement have decided to trade Avesh Khan and Devdutt Padikkal. Both franchises shared the announcement on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter). Rajasthan Royals wrote,

Lucknow Super Giants trade Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians
Earlier this month, the Lucknow Super Giants traded Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024 season. The West Indies all-rounder was signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for INR 50 Lakh at the actions. He has played 4 IPL matches, scoring 58 runs at an average of 19.3 and a strike rate of 138.1. He has also taken three wickets in the tournament. Overall, he has scored 301 T20I runs, at a strike rate of 153.6, and has taken 31 wickets, with 4/31 as his best bowling figures.
