David Warner gifts his helmet and gloves to a young fan after being dismissed for 57 in his final test innings played against Pakistan at Sydney Cricket Ground on 6th January 2024.
Chasing a target of 130 runs in the fourth innings, Usman Khawaja was dismissed in the first over itself. Warner looked impressive with his attacking shots putting pressure on Pakistan’s bowling lineup and keeping the scoreboard ticking. He showed his intent not allowing them to settle. Australia went into the lunch break at 91 for 1.

After the lunch break, Warner completed his half-century. He was dismissed by Sajid Khan via review. The umpire gave not out but on review, it was overturned to out. The SCG crowd gave a standing ovation to the southpaw. His brilliant century partnership made sure that Australia chased down the target of 130 with 8 wickets to spare.
It was an impressive performance by the Australian team in the entire series. Australia won the first Test match at Perth by a massive 360 runs. Thanks to Pat Cummins’s brilliant bowling effort and all-round performances, Australia won the second test match by 79 runs at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Australia was behind in the first innings during the 3rd Test match at SCG. Thanks to Josh Hazlewood’s brilliance on the 3rd evening, Australia reduced Pakistan to 67 for 7. The hosts bowled out Pakistan for 115 runs in 2nd innings.
“Yeah, look it is pretty much a dream come true. It has been a great 18-20 months for Australian cricket. The World Test Championship, the World Cup, and then capping it off here. This has been brilliant. They have worked themselves up. The three quicks, Mitch Marsh they have been fantastic,” he said.
“I will not have to face them anymore in the nets, I don’t anyway. Yeah, had some coffee with my family and tried to relax a bit. Look we are in the entertainment business. I look to play my shots and entertain the crowd. That is what I was trying to do today. They have been a big part of my career,” Warner added.
