The Australian Cricket Team has been given good news as Usman Khawaja has been cleared to play the second Test match against West Indies to be played at Gabba, Brisbane. Khawaja was hit with a sharp bouncer by Shamar Joseph in the 2nd innings of the 1st Test match at Adelaide Oval.
Khawaja had blood and was forced to retire as Marnus Labuschagne and Smith hit the winning runs helping Australia register a comprehensive 10-wicket win in the first Test at Adelaide Oval. He was cleared with an initial concussion test in the dressing room and scans did not show any serious things. Khawaja was checked for a possible delayed concussion.
Cricket Australia said on Monday that Usman Khawaja will be available for the 2nd Test match to be played at Gabba, Brisbane from 25th January onwards. The second Test match would be a day-night affair that would take place with Pink Ball.
Khawaja was given a reprieve early by Joshua Da Sliva. He then showed his class with a well-compliant 45 off 111 deliveries. Chasing a modest target of 26 runs to win, Khawaja was retired on 9. Australia registered a comprehensive 10-wicket victory to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Australia Would Look To Show Their Domination In Second Test
Australia Registered a comprehensive 10-wicket victory in the first test against West Indies at Adelaide Oval. After opting to bowl first, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins 4 wicket haul while Lyon and Starc 1 wicket each bowled out West Indies for a mere 188.
Thanks to a sensational century by Travis Head in the first innings, Australia took a decent lead of 95 runs. Josh Hazlewood did the damage once more picking the first 4 wickets in the first innings putting pressure on the West Indies batting lineup.
Australia would look to dominate the West Indies team in the 2nd Test match to be played at Gabba, Brisbane. Josh Hazlewood, Starc, and captain Cummins would look for another superb bowling performance and help the hosts to whitewash West Indies 2-0.
