Yet again, the father of Yuvraj Singh has come with stern statements on MS Dhoni. However, this time, he added Virat Kohli and a bunch of selectors saying that they all have backstabbed Yuvraj Singh. Recently, Yuvraj Singh also stated that he didn’t get enough support from Dhoni or Kohli, which he used to get from Sourav Ganguly.
In a recent interview, Yograj Singh also accused current Indian skipper Virat Kohli of backstabbing Yuvraj. He further added saying that many selectors have also betrayed the hero of India’s 2011 World Cup victory.
Even selectors betrayed Yuvraj Singh:
Yuvraj Singh had made a comeback into the Indian team after battling cancer, but his form never persisted and finally hung up his boots in 2019. The left-hander had earlier claimed that the selectors did not pick him after being asked to clear the yo-yo test, which he did.
On being questioned about the same in an interview to News24, Yograj said: “Along with these two (Dhoni and Kohli), I would say that even the selectors betrayed him. I had met Ravi recently. He asked me for a photograph. I called him and pointed out that all great players should get a send-off based on their performances.”
“When Dhoni, Kohli or Rohit retire, I would request the board to give them a good send-off as they have done so much for Indian cricket. Many have backstabbed him and it hurts,” he added.
It hurts when someone backstabs you:
Further, Yograj Singh revealed the name of a selector, who purposely opposed the selection of Yuvraj Singh during the selection meeting. He termed the selector as inefficient with zero knowledge of the game.
“Indian selector Sharandeep Singh, he used to go to meetings and say that Yuvraj should be dropped. Such people are appointed as selectors who do not know ABC of cricket. What do you expect from them? It hurts when someone backstabs you. Everybody was worried about what would happen to them if Yuvraj continues to perform” Yograj said.
