IND vs ENG: [WATCH]- Zak Crawley Expresses Frustration With The Umpire’s LBW Decision During The 3rd Test

Zak Crawley expressed dissatisfaction as he headed back to the pavilion, receiving an LBW decision during the fourth innings of the ongoing Test against India in Rajkot on February 18.

The dismissal occurred when Crawley was struck on the pads by a Jasprit Bumrah delivery that maintained a good length and sharply deviated off the seam. Following a vocal appeal, umpire Kumar Dharmasena deliberated before eventually signaling Crawley out.

Disagreeing with the LBW decision, Crawley went for a review after a discussion with non-striker Ollie Pope. The DRS revealed that the ball would only marginally hit the leg stump. While Indian players celebrated, a visibly upset Zak Crawley expressed his displeasure and exchanged words with umpire Dharamsena before leaving the field.

Crawley faced another LBW decision controversy in the fourth innings of the Visakhapatnam Test. It remains to be seen whether he faces any consequences for displaying dissent towards the on-field umpire.

England struggled to gain momentum in the run chase

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s remarkable double century of 214* propelled India to set a formidable target of 557 for England to chase. Despite the anticipation that the visitors would aggressively pursue the target, they found themselves in a dire situation.

The high expectations for an aggressive response were not met, and England faced considerable difficulties in the pursuit of the challenging target.

The downfall for England started with the unnecessary run-out of Ben Duckett, and the situation progressively worsened for them. India dominated the proceedings, claiming seven wickets at the time of reporting. Despite being a bowler short on Day 3, the hosts mounted a resilient comeback and maintained their momentum.
