Watch: Naveen-ul-Haq Dismisses Shoaib Malik, Wife Sana Javed’s Reaction Goes Viral

Karachi Kings faced a challenging match against Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League, ultimately falling short by just two runs in their pursuit of a modest target of 148. Despite Babar Azam’s half-century propelling Peshawar past the 145 mark, Karachi’s response faltered, despite a promising 41-run contribution from Tim Seifert. Shoaib Malik, the former Pakistan captain, managed 22 runs off 25 balls before being bowled by Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq, leaving his wife Sana Javed, who was in attendance at the stadium, visibly surprised by his dismissal.

The cricket match also drew attention to Malik’s personal life, following confirmation in January by Sania Mirza’s family of her separation from the Pakistani cricketer, just a day after his third marriage to actor Sana Javed. This revelation marked the end of a much-publicized union between the sports figures from India and Pakistan. Speculation surrounding their strained relationship intensified when Malik unfollowed Mirza on Instagram, sparking rumors of discord.

Sania Mirza’s family issued a statement: “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead!,”

“At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy,”

The couple, who share a five-year-old son named Izaan, now live separately, with Mirza hinting at personal challenges in an Instagram post. Mirza, renowned as one of India’s greatest tennis players, retired from professional tennis last year after a distinguished career spanning two decades, during which she secured six Grand Slam titles in doubles and mixed doubles events.

Sania Mirza further said in an Instagram post: “Marriage is hard, Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard, Choose your hard. being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard,”

“Communication is hard. No communicating is hard. Life will never be easy. I will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely.”
