The schedule for the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between India and Australia was announced on Tuesday, March 26 by Cricket Australia (CA). The series kicks off on November 22 in Perth and also features a day-night test. This will be the first time since 1991-92 that series will witness five matches.
After the first Test in Perth, the teams will head to Adelaide for the second match. It is going to be a day-night, pink ball affair, starting on December 6. India was bowled out for 36 in their last day-night Test against Australia at the venue. They made a memorable comeback after the match to win the series. Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney will host the remaining three tests, including the Boxing Day test.
Schedule for 2024-25 Border Gavaskar Trophy
First Test at Perth Stadium in Perth – November 22 to 26
Second Test at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide – December 6 to 10 (Day-Night)
Third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane – December 14 to 18
Fourth Test at the MCG in Melbourne – December 26 to December 30
Fifth Test at the SCG in Sydney – January 3 to January 7, 2025.
Australia hasn’t defeated India in a Test series since 2014-15 season. They have lost four consecutive Border Gavaskar Trophy series – two at home, and two away. However, they defeated India in London to win the World Test Championship (WTC) final in the 2021-23.
CA announces India women’s tour of Australia
The Indian women’s team will also tour Australia in December for a limited-overs series. They will play three ODI matches, starting from December 5. The Allan Border Field in Brisbane will host the first two matches, while the final ODI will take place at the WACA Ground in Perth.
