Matheesha Pathirana, the fast bowler for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has renewed his team’s chances against Delhi Capitals in the 13th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), held at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Delhi Capitals showcased remarkable batting prowess in the current match against Chennai Super Kings. Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, the team got off to a splendid start, courtesy of David Warner (53) and Prithvi Shaw (43), who batted exceptionally well, forming a formidable partnership of 93 runs.
Following their stellar performance, Mitchell Marsh aimed to dominate the game for his team. Displaying precision in his shots, the all-rounder seemed poised to steer the match in his team’s favor. However, Matheesha Pathirana’s bowling brilliance turned the tide, leaving Marsh at a loss for answers.
Pathirana delivered a lightning-fast yorker clocking at 150 kmph, leaving Marsh bewildered. With a hint of inward movement, the ball raced towards the stumps, shattering them in an instant and dismissing the all-rounder swiftly at Vizag.
As if that wasn’t sufficient, Matheesha Pathirana replicated his delivery in the same over. Just two deliveries later, he dismantled the stumps of Tristan Stubbs, sending the batsman back to the pavilion without scoring, in the CSK vs DC match at Vizag.
Matheesha Pathirana unleashed a yorker clocking at 149.5 kilometers per hour, which sneaked beneath the bat of Tristan Stubbs and crashed into the stumps, dislodging both the off and middle poles.
