The former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma achieved two major milestones in match number 33 of IPL 2024 against Punjab Kings played at Mullanpur on 18th April.
PBKS captain Sam Curran won the toss and decided to field first. Rohit Sharma opened the innings with Ishan Kishan. Kishan was dismissed cheaply by Rabada at deep point. Rohit looked impressive playing with positive intent putting pressure on PBKS bowlers. The umpire gave out as Rohit Sharma reviewed the decision and it was overturned to out as missing the leg stump.
Rohit Sharma played with intent keeping the scoreboard ticking along with Suryakumar Yadav. He was dismissed with a superb catch by Brar for 36 off 25 deliveries including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit achieved two major milestones during today’s encounter against Punjab Kings. He became the 2nd player after MS Dhoni to feature in 250th IPL match.
It has been a tremendous journey for Rohit Sharma playing his 250th IPL match today. Rohit played for the Deccan Chargers from 2009 to 2011. He was a part of the team that won the first-ever title for Deccan Chargers in 2009 defeating RCB in the finals played at Johannesburg.

Rohit Sharma featured in 250 IPL matches which is a record for any player. He scored so far 6508 runs from 250 matches (245 innings) with 2 centuries and 42 half-centuries to his name. During his IPL career, Rohit led Mumbai Indians to winning a record five IPL titles.
He was removed from the captaincy job and replaced by Hardik Pandya for IPL 2024. Rohit Sharma showed tremendous attacking skills putting pressure on bowlers right from the word go in the first six overs. His batting gave flying starts to Mumbai Indians side this season.
Rohit Sharma looked impressive this season and kept the momentum going for MI. His best score in the entire tournament was 109 not out against Kolkata Knight Riders. Rohit made the batting look easy for Mumbai Indians this season. Mumbai Indians scored 192 for 7 in 20 overs as Tilak Varma showed his class with a quickfire cameo.
