ICC T20 World Cup 2024: [WATCH]- Mohammed Siraj’s Aggressive Throw Hits Mohammad Rizwan’s Hand During The IND vs PAK Match

In the T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan on Sunday, a controversial moment unfolded when Mohammed Siraj‘s forceful throw struck Mohammad Rizwan‘s hand. In the seventh over of the Pakistan innings, Rizwan played the ball straight back to Siraj, who attempted a throw towards the stumps, presuming the batsman was out of his crease.

However, the ball accidentally hit Rizwan’s hand, deflecting to fine leg, allowing Pakistan batters to take a single run. Siraj promptly apologized to Rizwan for the incident, which has since garnered widespread attention on social media.

Regarding the match, the Indian cricket team’s bowlers displayed disciplined play, leading Pakistan to a defeat by six runs. India were dismissed for 119, yet Pakistan couldn’t take advantage, losing wickets consistently and ultimately failing to reach the target.

“It feels really good. We felt we were a little under and the wicket got a little better after the sun came out. We were really disciplined so it feels good. Tried to hit the seam as much as I could, tried to be as clear as I could with my execution and it all came out well so I felt happy.”

“Felt like we were playing in India, really happy with the support and that gives us energy on the field. We focus on the now. We’ve played two games and played really well. You stick to your processes and look to play well,” Jasprit Bumrah said.

India makes history with a thrilling six-run win over Pakistan, defending the lowest total in T20 World Cup

Team India made history with a thrilling six-run victory over Pakistan in a crucial ICC T20 World Cup match. Defending a modest target of 120 runs, India limited Pakistan to 113/7 in their 20 overs, achieving the lowest total ever defended in the tournament’s history.

This achievement equals Sri Lanka’s record from the 2014 T20 World Cup when they defended 120 against New Zealand, dismissing them for just 60 runs. India’s successful defense also surpasses their previous best in T20 cricket, which was defending 139 runs against Zimbabwe in 2016, securing a three-run victory.

The match at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium was an emotional rollercoaster, as India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah, demonstrated their skills under immense pressure. Bumrah’s precise three-wicket haul, along with significant contributions from other bowlers, kept Pakistan’s chase under control.

India’s triumph over Pakistan marks their seventh victory against their arch-rivals in T20 World Cup history, with Pakistan securing just one win in their encounters, a ten-wicket victory in the 2021 edition held in the UAE.

This win propels India to the top of Group A with two victories from two matches, accumulating four points. Conversely, Pakistan’s prospects of progressing to the knockout stages seem unpromising, as they sit fourth in the group, having lost both their matches to the USA and India.
