The June 17, Monday, ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match between Bangladesh and Nepal will take place in Kingstown, St. Vincent, starting at 5 a.m. IST, or 7.30 p.m. local time.
Bangladesh prevailed against both the Netherlands and Sri Lanka. By a mere four runs, they were defeated in the match against South Africa. After perhaps three games of strong cricket, they now want to beat Nepal to guarantee their Super 8 position.
With a one-run loss in their last match, Nepal has yet to win a game in this World Cup. With the fight that his squad put up against the Proteas, Nepali captain Rohit Paudel had nothing but praise for his group. In their last league encounter, they still have a chance to pull off an upset if they defeat Bangladesh.
BAN vs NEP: Top 5 Players to Watch Out For:
Rohit Paudel:
Rohit Paudel, who is 21 years old, is one of Nepal’s most reliable and talented young batters. During a home series against West Indies A recently, he was in his best form, scoring 265 runs in four games at a rate of 177.85 per hundred balls and a striking average of 132.50 runs per game.
The pressure for Paudel will be to come in at number three, where he also has to bat first, most probably in an attempt by team coaches towards possibly winning matches with other countries abroad, especially South Africa, among others, on behalf of the Nepal Cricket Board (NCB). Do so until retirement day arrives.
Karan KC:
Karan is a genuine wicket-taker and Nepal’s fastest bowler. During the West Indies A series, he only took 3 wickets in 5 games, but his bowling is far superior. The 32-year-old bowler has experience bowling and is skilled at taking wickets.
Throughout the powerplay and towards the end of the innings, he bowls hard overs. His ability to whip the ball quickly makes him a dangerous bowler. He is a killer under the appropriate circumstances. In addition to bowling rapidly, he can hit in the lower order.
Dipendra Singh Airee:
Over the past 5 fixtures, Dipendra Singh Airee, an all-rounder from Nepal, has been throwing the ball and tossing the bat, scoring 25 runs and taking one wicket in each match at an average of 45. Even in situations of desperate need for depth, his all-encompassing abilities go way beyond just playing cricket in Nepal’s squad, to the extent that he is something no one should take for granted.
Wanindu Hasaranga:
In the past five games, Wanindu Hasaranga, recognized for his all-round skills, has collected 97 runs and six wickets. He offers a solid presence in both the batsmanship and bowling of teams since he is a middle-order batsman and a leg-break bowler.
With his two distinct skill sets, Hasaranga is a great asset who can make important runs and important wickets. His versatility as a player underscores his significance to the team’s overall tactics and success.
Matheesha Pathirana:
Known for his quick reflexes and toe-crushing yorkers, Matheesha Pathirana will spearhead Sri Lanka’s pace campaign. He’s shown he can make big breakthroughs with five wickets in his last five games. An important member of Sri Lanka’s squad, Pathirana bowls with deadly accuracy and reliability. The bowling lineup of the club benefits greatly from his capacity to produce under duress and hit batsmen with accurate yorkers.
