All-rounder Hardik Pandya was observed by Jasprit Bumrah amusing himself by embracing his inner Thor during India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory lap at Wankhede Stadium. On July 4, India celebrated their second T20 World Cup victory, drawing a sea of enthusiastic fans into Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
A special ceremony of felicitation was arranged for the squad by the BCCI, after a victory parade along Marine Drive. A lively audience of 33,000 fans was treated to speeches by cricket stars such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Pandya, and Bumrah at the event.
An unexpected moment happened when the Men in Blue were making their victory lap around the stadium, raising the Indian flag and joining the spectators in singing “Vande Mataram.” With his arms out, Pandya, who was leading the procession, was urging the assembly.
At that moment, a T-shirt from the bleachers shot towards him and landed precisely in his right hand. The all-round player caught the shirt with ease and dropped it carelessly. Following closely behind Pandya, Bumrah laughed heartily as she saw the strange occurrence.

Jasprit Bumrah achieved the initial breakthrough, but Heinrich Klaasen and Quinton de Kock helped the Proteas resurrect. With the removal of Klaasen in the 17th over, India gained the upper hand in the contest. After that, Pandya bowled the last over and got rid of David Miller, who was defending 16, to help India win.
