In the 29th match of The Hundred Men’s Competition on August 13, 2021, at Headingley in Leeds, Adil Rashid, the spinner of the Northern Superchargers, threw a peach of delivery to dismiss London Spirit batter Matthew Critchley.

If they want to make it to the playoff spots, then this game is crucial for Superchargers to win while London Spirit has already exited from race. Rashid has led the way for the Northern Superchargers with great deliveries. In their last innings against Matthew Critchley, who was on his ninth ball facing him during that particular match.

The right-handed batter did not have a very good day with the bat, managing only three runs from seven balls faced. Spirit were in trouble as their score read 47 for four wickets after 39 balls had been bowled when Critchley went out of action.

Adil Rashid dismisses Andre Russell for a low score with a cleverly disguised googly in The Hundred

Adil Rashid took a special wicket when he bowled Andre Russell using googly in The Hundred Men’s match played on Tuesday 13 August 2024. The match is being played at Headingley ground which is located in Leeds between London Spirit and Northern Superchargers.

Russell was dismissed after facing 63 balls during London Spirit innings. He was not able to read Rashid’s delivery perfect because he was already on front foot trying to hit a big shot over mid wicket area. As it turned out the ball made its way through between bat and pad hitting off stump hence getting out of Russell’s reach.

Right handed batsman scored only three runs in nine balls thereby putting his team in trouble at score of 62/6 with respect to the other team. Sharing about this incident on their platform X; The Hundred posted:

This season, Andre Russell has not been able to validate his £125,000 price tag with his bat, obtaining only 90 runs at an average of 12.85.
