[WATCH]- Pakistan Captain Shan Masood Involves In A Heated Exchange With Head Coach Jason Gillespie During PAK vs BAN Test

The ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi saw visible frustration on the part of Pakistan’s captain Shan Masood who had an animated conversation with his head coach Jason Gillespie. In the changing room of Pakistan, Masood paused constantly during indeed, his team was bowling to talk to Gillespie while he was batting.

Although when exactly it happened is not clear, it was probably around day three or four when Bangladesh managed to further torment hosts through their batsmen.

This is the first match that Gillespie is coaching Pakistan in the tests, while Masood has now captained for the fourth time since being appointed following his 0-3 loss against Australia this year.

When Pakistan finished their first innings at 448/6, Bangladesh took them aback with a gigantic score of 565 in their initial attempt to bat. By end of day 4, having begun playing on yesterday; they earned themselves a lead o f 117 runs and were able to restrict them to just one wicket at stumps with the score standing at 23/1.

Bangladesh aims to achieve a historic first-test victory over Pakistan

Historically, Bangladesh has had a poor record against Pakistan in Tests where they have lost 12 of their 13 games played with red balls. However, they are in leading position with one day to go for what would be a memorable maiden Test victory over these Asian opponents. The last day might work well for Bangladesh spinners on a Rawalpindi track which has remained flat for most parts of the game.

In a press conference, spin-bowling all-rounder Mehidy Hasan spoke about how early strikes could be important for Bangladesh at the end of Day 4.’

“If our bowlers perform well in the first hour tomorrow, we’ll be in a good position. We’re not thinking too far ahead. We’ll have a great chance if we can take early wickets tomorrow.”

”If we get a few wickets in the first session, we have a shot at winning. We got a good lead, and now we need to bowl in the right areas and pick up early wickets. The bowlers did well in the last hour,” Mehidy said (via Cricbuzz).

At 16 for 3, Bangladesh encountered some difficulty with Pakistan in the first innings, however, centuries from Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan helped them regain their position of power.

The final day has begun; however, Pakistan is still struggling at one down after eleven overs scoring twenty-four runs while having to chase ninety-three more runs in order to compel Bangladesh into their second batting innings.
