There have been rumors of a rift within the Pakistan team after a video from the first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan went viral. The video shows Shaheen Afridi taking Shan Masood’s hand off his shoulder, which causes the two players to exchange tense words. On social media, the incident has attracted a lot of attention.

That day, Sunday 25 August, did not go well for Pakistan because it lost its first Test match against Bangladesh in the series badly. In spite of declaring their first innings and utilizing all the opportunities presented to them during the game, Pakistan managed to lose by 10 wickets to Najmul Shanto’s team. Notably, this was the first time that Pakistan has lost a test match against Bangladesh playing with the red ball.

Social media users specially targeted senior players such as Babar Azam, Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi who were accused of failing to put up any serious bat-and-ball combat. The all-out attack approach employed by Pakistan was severely criticized after seven wickets fell within the second innings at the hands of Bangladeshi spin bowlers Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz leading to victory for their side.

The series decider will begin on August 30 at the same location, with the visitors currently ahead 1-0. Subsequently, a video of skipper Shan Masood and ace bowler Shaheen Afridi huddled together during the match went viral, leading many to speculate about the turmoil in Pakistani cricket. Shaheen was seen standing next to Shan at this point. He quickly made the moves necessary to remove Shan’s hands from his shoulder.

This video came to light the day after another one that appeared on social media and showed Shan Masood and head coach Jason Gillespie having a furious argument.

In their match against Pakistan, the best bowlers for Bangladesh despite the terrible batting performance in the first innings were Shakib Al Hassan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz that turned out to be historic for them by leading their nation into victory after many years of wait in the Test cricket.

Mehidy was on fire with the ball taking four wickets for just twenty-one runs while Shakib did equally well by grabbing three from forty-four as he gave his team hope on day five when we saw how Pakistan collapsed at one hundred forty-six all out within fifty-five point five overs. And Bangladesh’s openers; Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam, barely sweated it reaching their target of thirty runs required to win during six point three overs.
