Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma, the latest batting star, turned 23 years old. Yuvraj Singh, his mentor and former all-rounder who won the World Cup, was one of the first to wish him a happy birthday. Yuvraj resorted to social media to share a touching greeting, along with some critical advice for the young opener.
Notably, Yuvraj was frustrated by Abhishek’s persistent failure to grasp the significance of taking singles, a critical aspect of the game. Instead of having a private talk, Yuvraj decided to share this counsel publicly via the birthday greeting.
In his piece, he emphasized the value of alternating the strike and scoring runs via singles, highlighting how these actions affect the team’s overall performance.
“Happy birthday sir Abhishek. Hope you take as many singles this year as many as you knock out of the park. Keep putting in the hard work! loads of love and wishes for a great year ahead!” Yuvraj wrote in his message on Wednesday.
“Tu Na Sudhri (You won’t change),” Yuvraj can be heard saying in the video.
Abhishek scored 484 runs in 16 matches during the IPL 2024:

The overall cricket season of Abhishek Sharma has been excellent. This year in January the 23-year-oldĀ began playing for teams outside his own country. However, during the tour of Zimbabwe in July he hit a hundred in only his second Twenty20 match. In a furious knock in Harare, the Punjab arrival delivered seven fours and eight sixes.
Having a series of excellent performances for the SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, this talented cricketer like Abhishek Sharma cannot escape the attention of the selectors. SunRisers got off to a great start when Abhishek, and Travis Head, hero of the recently concluded World Cup, joined to open the inning.
More specifically, Abhishek had an astonishing strike rate of 202 and was able to grab 484 runs from 16 matches. Four more than Virat Kohli, he scored 42 mammoth sixes and thus he was the leader of the six-hitting charts.
