On Friday, September 13, Prithi Narayanan, Ravichandran Ashwin‘s wife, posted a story on her official Instagram account featuring the experienced off-spinner. Ashwin is preparing to play his fifth Test at his home ground, the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, as India faces Bangladesh on September 19.
In anticipation of the two-match series, the Indian team has gathered in Chennai, with their camp commencing on Friday. Before the first Test between India and Bangladesh, Prithi shared a story on Instagram with the following caption:
“Chennai, Test match feelings are coming. Right?”
Ashwin appeared cheerful as he went to training at India’s pre-series camp at the M. Chidambaram Stadium. His picture featured a backdrop of a wall adorned with jerseys that appeared to belong to the spinner. Ashwin is set to play a crucial role in India’s home Test season.The second Test between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to take place at Green Park in Kanpur on September 27.
Ravichandran Ashwin has been in excellent form this year
Ravichandran Ashwin will be one of Team India’s vital personalities during the first Test match against Bangladesh that will take place at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. The 36-born has made 4 Test appearances at this venue; 3 against England and 1 against Australia. Last time he played there, Ashwin scored a century against England.
Earlier this year, Ashwin last appeared for Team India in the fifth Test match against England, which was also his 100th appearance. He took five wickets as the top bowler during their second innings. Moreover, he was the leading wicket-taker with 26 wickets in just ten innings averaging 24.80.
Ashwin has subsequently participated in the IPL 2024 season playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR). In their elimination match held on theSunRisers Hyderabad, which they lost, Ravichandran Ashwin got awarded ‘Player of the Match’. He played for Dindigul Dragons too in Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) helping them clinch the title.
