VIDEO: Chris Gayle flirts with TV presenter on Air in BBL, draws criticism:Â Swashbuckling West Indies batsman, Chris Gayle is in danger after his comments during an interview with a female TV presenter in BBL, Mel McLaughlin. Gayle was interviewed after he got out for 41 off 15 balls and eventually his team went on to win the match against Hobart Hurricanes.
The Melbourne Renegades star may face disciplinary action after the BBL boss Anthony Everard described his live on TV advances at a Channel Ten reporter as “disrespectful and simply inappropriate”.
People all over the world took to social media to criticize the veteran batsman for his comments. Former cricketers also did not spare the West Indies southpaw and termed the incident as unprofessional and inappropriate.
Mel McLaughlin is a presenter with the official broadcaster of the T20 league who usually interviews batsman outside the boundary line after they get dismissed. She interviewed Gayle shortly after he was dismissed on Monday night in the match between Renegades and Hurricanes. She asked the batsman on his aggressive batting to which he replied: “I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well. That’s the reason why I’m here, just to see your eyes for the first time. It’s nice so. Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Don’t blush, baby.”
