Musheer Khan Stable Following A Road Accident; Sidelined For Three Months

Mumbai cricketer Musheer Khan is in stable condition after a road accident on the outskirts of Lucknow on Saturday, September 28. Musheer, the younger brother of Indian cricketer Sarafaraz Khan, was traveling to Lucknow with his father, Naushad Khan, for the upcoming Irani Cup match from their hometown of Azamgarh.

Their car collided with a divider and overturned on the Purvanchal Expressway, resulting in injuries for both. Musheer suffered a neck fracture, while his father sustained minor scratches. They have been admitted to Medanta Hospital, where they are being treated under the care of Dr. Dharmendra Singh.

“Cricketer Musheer Khan, injured in a road accident on the Purvanchal Expressway, was brought to the emergency department of Medanta Hospital due to pain in his neck.”

”His treatment is being conducted under the supervision of Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Director of the Department of Orthopedics. His condition is stable and he is out of danger,” Dr. Singh said in the statement.

The Mumbai Cricket Association provided an update on Musheer’s injury, stating that their medical team is monitoring his recovery. They also noted that the 19-year-old will be airlifted to Mumbai for further evaluation once he is stable enough to travel.

MCA medical staff are overseeing Musheer’s recovery

“He has sustained a fracture in the neck region and is under close observation. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) medical teams are closely monitoring his progress to ensure he receives the best possible care.”

“Once Musheer is deemed medically fit for travel, he will be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation and additional medical treatment. The timeline for his recovery will be determined following these assessments,” said MCA in a statement.

The unfortunate injury will sideline Musheer for at least three months, causing him to miss the upcoming Irani Cup starting October 1. He had kicked off his domestic season impressively, scoring a century for India B in the Duleep Trophy and making significant contributions to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy victory earlier this year.
