“It Is A Great Relief” – Tushar Deshpande Successfully Undergoes Ankle Surgery In London

Indian cricketer Tushar Deshpande provided an update on Instagram on Tuesday, October 1, regarding his ankle surgery, successfully performed on September 30 in London. The 29-year-old last played during India‘s five-match series against Zimbabwe in July 2024, where India secured a 4-1 victory.

Tushar Deshpande was omitted from the Mumbai squad for the Irani Cup 2024 as well as from the list of probables for the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy due to his scheduled ankle surgery.

This decision came as he focused on his recovery and rehabilitation following the procedure. On Tuesday, he took to social media to share an update about his condition, posting a message with the caption:

“This post comes as an update about my ankle surgery which was done yesterday and went very well. It is a great relief as I was dealing with it for quite a long time.”

“I am very grateful to my family, friends and all my fans for the well wishes, love and trust they have shown towards me. Here on, I start my journey to recover better than before and come back stronger,” he added.

The Mumbai cricketer played five matches in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season, taking 15 wickets with an average of 25.86, significantly contributing to his team’s successful campaign.

Tushar Deshpande made his debut for India earlier this year in Zimbabwe

Acquired by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for ₹20 lakhs during the IPL 2022 mega auction, he appeared in only two matches that season. However, he revived his career in 2023, claiming 21 wickets in 16 games and playing a crucial role in CSK’s fifth IPL title win.

Building on his strong performance in 2024, Deshpande claimed 17 wickets in 13 matches with an economy rate of 8.83. His outstanding displays earned him a national call-up for the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe earlier this year. The Mumbai cricketer participated in two matches, taking two wickets.
