Team India all-rounder Axar Patel announced his wife Meha’s pregnancy with a sweet video on his official Instagram account on Monday, October 7. The video showcases some touching moments between the couple.

Axar married Meha, a nutritionist and dietician, in a lavish ceremony in Vadodara in January 2023. He was part of the Indian squad for the recent two-match Test series against Bangladesh but did not play in either match. The 30-year-old has also been rested for the current T20I series against Bangladesh.

On Monday night, Axar shared a heartfelt video on Instagram to reveal that he is set to become a father, captioning the clip:

“A great joy is coming ❤️ 👶🏻 🧿.”

Interestingly, during his recent appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, Axar Patel hinted playfully that some exciting news could be coming soon.

Axar Patel was a key player in Team India’s success at the 2024 T20 World Cup

While players like captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya received much praise for their performances, Axar quietly shone as an unsung hero, making significant contributions with both bat and ball.

The versatile cricketer scored 20 runs off 18 balls in the crucial match against Pakistan in New York after being promoted to No. 4 due to early wickets. He was also elevated in the final against South Africa, where he made 47 runs off 31 balls, helping India recover from a shaky 34-3.

As a bowler, the left-arm spinner went wicketless only once, in the match against Bangladesh in North Sound. He was named Player of the Match for his impressive figures of 3-23 against England in the semifinal in Guyana. The Gujarat cricketer also made an incredible one-handed catch to dismiss Mitchell Marsh during the Super 8 match against Australia in Gros Islet.
