Dravid was not a bad bowler too in his early days. He has been a part-time spinner who used to bowl a lot during his Under-19 days. He later shifted his focus to batting and became one of the world’s best.
Rahul Dravid”s first international wicket was Saeed Anwar which came in Jaipur in 1999. In 344 One-Day International games, Dravid has four wickets.

Dravid’s next three wickets came against South Africa in 2000 in the 5-match bilateral series. In the Kochi ODI, South African openers were unstoppable. They put up a mammoth 235-run stand. This compelled the skipper Sourav Ganguly to hand the ball to the part-timer, Rahul Dravid, the right-handed offie. Dravid did not disappoint his new captain and took two crucial wickets in an over.
First he took the wicket of Gary Kirsten in the 43rd over, who was caught in the point region for 115. Then it was time for Lance Klusenar to be Dravid’s next victim who lasted only 4 balls and was caught and bowled off the last ball of the over. He finished with an impressive figure in that match which read as 9-0-43-2.
Dravid also bowled in the next two matches of that series, where he added another wicket to his list. But unfortunately he never got to bowl in ODI matches thereafter.
