In a dramatic moment during the second Test between Pakistan and England in Multan, Pakistan’s off-spinner Sajid Khan made a shocking mistake that saved England’s opener, Zak Crawley, from a certain run-out.
On the fourth ball of the 8th over of England’s first innings, Ben Duckett pushed a ball toward backward square, leading Crawley to dash for a quick single. Realizing the danger, Crawley quickly turned back but found himself stranded halfway down the pitch.
The ball was thrown to Sajid Khan at the non-striker’s end, but in a critical error, Sajid disturbed the stumps before the ball reached him. After checking multiple angles, the third umpire ruled in favor of the batting side, giving Crawley a lucky reprieve.
Crawley Dismissed After Reprieve, Duckett Shines
Following the missed run-out, Sajid Khan’s frustration was evident as he bowled a loose delivery on the next ball, which Ben Duckett dispatched to the midwicket boundary for four runs. Though Crawley survived the blunder, he couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity for long.

In the 13th over, left-arm spinner Noman Ali trapped Crawley for 27 runs, caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan. The initial decision was not out, but Pakistan successfully overturned it after Shan Masood opted for a review.
Despite the setback for Crawley, Duckett continued his aggressive approach, racing to a half-century in just 47 balls. Duckett remained in fine form, driving England’s innings forward with ease.
Kamran Ghulam Impresses on Debut for Pakistan
Earlier in the match, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 366 in their first innings, largely thanks to debutant Kamran Ghulam’s brilliant century. Ghulam, who replaced the dropped Babar Azam, showcased his talent with a composed 118 off 224 balls, including 11 fours and a six.
His knock was complemented by Saim Ayub’s patient 77, which helped Pakistan build a strong foundation. England, however, entered the match leading the series 1-0, having secured a dominant win in the first Test at Multan by an innings and 47 runs. As the second Test unfolds, England’s aggressive batting continues to challenge Pakistan’s bowlers, making for an intense contest.
