Arshdeep Singh, an Indian pacer, has stated that he enjoys batting, especially when facing medium-paced bowlers and taking flat wickets. Arshdeep said he is trying to help with the bat as well ahead of the third Twenty20 International match against South Africa.
The two teams, who were finalists in the 2024 T20 World Cup, will play their third match in Centurion on Wednesday, with the series currently knotted at one. Being the current world champions, the Indian team will try to win the series.
In contrast, the Proteas will try to even the series and avoid a defeat. The third Twenty20 International looks to be a thrilling contest because both teams are evenly matched.
“I challenge myself to improve in all three aspects”- Arshdeep Singh
In an attempt to contribute with the bat as well, Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh stated on Tuesday that he enjoys batting when there are medium-pace bowlers and flat pitches. “I try to excel in all aspects of my game,” Arshdeep, who frequently hits a slog-sweep for a six, said during the pre-match news conference.
“As long as the wicket is flat and bowlers are medium-pace, I love it. I love a half-volley from a spinner. Yes, I am trying my best to contribute with the bat whenever I get a chance. Even in the nets, I challenge myself to improve in all three aspects of the game–batting, bowling, and fielding. The idea has always been to excel in all three areas, and it is the same for me personally,” said Arshdeep.
“I just try to enjoy the present and have fun on the field and off the field. That’s been my mantra. Playing along with some legends of the game and learning from them about mental and physical preparation… that is why I feel I have grown my game. I am trying to learn from wherever I can and do well for the team,” he added.
So far in the series, Arshdeep has two wickets at an average of 33.00, with his best bowling statistics of 1/25.
