Sarfaraz Khan And Shubman Gill Share A Fun Moment At Perth Training

India’s training camp for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia is intense, yet team management ensures it stays enjoyable. For several players, this marks their first tour of Australia, and the atmosphere remains light-hearted to keep spirits high.

During a recent practice session at the WACA Ground, Sarfaraz Khan and Shubman Gill were seen engaging in a long conversation. The two cricketers shared an amusing moment when Sarfaraz presented a bat to Gill, kneeling as he offered it. Both Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Siraj were nearby, witnessing the friendly gesture, which Gill accepted with a smile.

Sarfaraz Suffers a Minor Injury at Nets

During the same practice, Sarfaraz endured a minor injury after being hit on his right elbow. Although the injury was not severe, he left the nets as a precaution and received attention from the medical team.

Reports indicate that he’s expected to return to practice by November 15, as he remains a candidate for the upcoming series opener at Perth’s Optus Stadium. Sarfaraz will be contending for a spot in the playing XI, possibly competing with Dhruv Jurel, a promising young wicketkeeper-batter who has recently impressed with his performances.

India’s Batting Options Depend on Rohit Sharma’s Availability

As India prepares for the Border-Gavaskar series, there are still uncertainties around the playing XI. Should captain Rohit Sharma be unavailable, KL Rahul may step in as an opener alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sarfaraz Khan, who showcased his potential with a century against New Zealand in the first Test in Bengaluru but struggled in subsequent games, hopes to make a mark in Australia.

This series carries high stakes, as it will influence India’s chances of reaching the World Test Championship final in 2025. The Indian team continues its rigorous training, with each player aiming to contribute significantly to the upcoming Test series.
