According to a few sources, a young batter of the Indian cricket team, Shubman Gill, has struck during a practice session in Perth, and this is not ideal for the Indian cricket team ahead of the Border Gavaskar trophy. While the specific nature and extent of the injuries have yet to be determined, it has nonetheless compounded the team’s burgeoning injury concerns.
The medical team of Team India will have to work extra hard to first diagnose and then treat Gill’s ailment especially as the series against the mighty Australian side is just a week away. It may be noted that KL Rahul has an injury rumor and the team is concerned about his fitness.
The batting order of Team India, which is already under pressure to perform against a formidable Australian team, will suffer a serious hit with the departure of Gill and maybe Rahul. The coaching staff of the team is optimistic that both players will be able to recuperate in time to play in the series.

The Times of India reports that during Saturday’s match simulation in Perth, Gill hurt his finger fielding in the slips. The medical staff is presently evaluating the batter’s condition and has not yet made a decision, the source added.
“Yes, Shubman Gill is injured, but it is too early to rule him out of the opening test. The medical team is keeping a close watch on him,” the report quoted a source as saying.
The injury was received by Gill one day after Rahul was hit by a Praisdh Krishna delivery during the opening day of the intra-squad encounter at WACA and had to leave the field. Yashasvi Jaiswal had to leave the field after taking a knock to the head after the latter had started the inning.
For the Border-Gavaskar series opening at the Optus Stadium on November 22, Team India has been training in Perth. The management chose to abandon the idea and concentrate on simulations on the center wicket instead of the guests playing a practice match as well.
