[WATCH]- Virat Kohli And Rishabh Pant Mock Sarfaraz Khan’s Unconventional Slip Fielding

Sarfaraz Khan, the middle-order batter for Team India, sparked laughter among his teammates, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, with his antics during a fielding drill in Perth. The amusing moment involving Sarfaraz, Kohli, and Pant has gone viral on social media, capturing the attention of fans.

India is currently preparing at WACA for the first Test match against Australia, scheduled to begin at Optus Stadium in Perth on Friday, November 22. Notably, the Indian team will be missing captain Rohit Sharma and top-order batter Shubman Gill for the series opener.

In a practice session at the slip cordon, Indian players, including Sarfaraz Khan, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Dhruv Jurel, were focused on catching drills. A video that has gone viral shows Sarfaraz attempting to catch a ball in a very unconventional way. Virat Kohli couldn’t stop laughing, while Rishabh Pant was left “floored” by the amusing moment.

Sarfaraz Khan Set to Be Excluded from India’s Playing XI for Perth Test

Reports suggest Sarfaraz Khan may not be included in India’s playing XI for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 opener. In Shubman Gill’s absence due to a thumb injury, Devdutt Padikkal is expected to bat at No. 3, while Dhruv Jurel will feature as a specialist batter at No. 6.

Sarfaraz had a strong start to his Test career, scoring three half-centuries in his debut series against England earlier this year and his first Test century in Bengaluru against New Zealand.

However, his form declined in the Pune and Mumbai matches, where he was dismissed cheaply in all four innings. Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal impressed with 65 runs in his debut Test against England in Dharamsala and showed his potential in unofficial Tests for India A against Australia A.
