The Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur is undergoing significant upgrades to host the inaugural Nepal Premier League (NPL). The upgrades include a refreshed outfield, the installation of a digital scoreboard, and brand-new sight screens.

Additionally, the ground now features enhanced practice pitches and an expanded boundary to meet international standards. To ensure comfort and exclusivity, a VIP seating arrangement and dedicated lounges for team owners and special guests are being constructed. These improvements aim to elevate the tournament experience for players and fans alike.

Nepal Premier League 2024: Teams and Schedule

The NPL, a franchise-based T20 cricket league, will take place from November 30 to December 21. This much-anticipated event will feature eight teams representing different provinces of Nepal. Bagmati Province will be represented by two teams, while other provinces will field one team each.

The participating franchises are the Kathmandu Gurkhas, Chitwan Rhinos, Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks, and Sudurpashchim Royals. Over three weeks, these teams will compete in a series of matches to crown the first NPL champions.

International Stars to Shine in NPL

The league is set to host several renowned international cricketers, adding a global appeal to the event. Star players include India’s Shikhar Dhawan, UAE’s Rohan Mustafa, Australia’s Ben Cutting, and Scotland’s Michael Leask.

Other notable names like Brandon McMullen, Saif Zaib, and former Indian cricketer Unmukt Chand will also feature in the tournament. With this stellar lineup, the NPL aims to showcase high-quality cricket and provide a platform for local talent to compete alongside international stars.

The Nepal Premier League 2024 promises to be a landmark event in Nepali cricket, combining top-tier international talent with the country’s emerging stars.
