[WATCH]- Virat Kohli’s Six Off Starc Strikes Steward’s Head Near Boundary

India‘s star batter, Virat Kohli, energized the second innings of the opening Border-Gavaskar Test at Perth’s Optus Stadium. After a disappointing Day 1 dismissal, Kohli showcased his class, highlighted by a spectacular six off Mitchell Starc, which led to an unfortunate incident.

Kohli played a powerful cut shot over third man against Starc’s short ball delivered around the wicket. The ball cleared the ropes but struck a steward on the head after bouncing. The steward, facing the crowd and unaware of the ball’s trajectory, appeared in discomfort. Fortunately, the bounce had reduced the ball’s pace before impact.

Kohli looked concerned after realizing his shot had hit an unintended target. Australian players, including Nathan Lyon, quickly checked on the steward, and the team’s medical staff was sent to provide assistance. You can watch the video here:

India’s Lead Surges Past 400 As Kohli Anchors One End

On Day 3, during the second session, the Men in Blue experienced a short-term collapse, losing three wickets in quick succession: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and Dhruv Jurel. However, the team regained composure towards the end of the session, thanks to a solid partnership that developed between Washington Sundar and Virat Kohli, providing much-needed stability.

The duo has added 34 runs off 63 balls, taking the score to 355-5 after 107 overs, with the lead climbing to 401. Kohli remains unbeaten on 38 off 64 balls. His six off Starc was a standout moment, alongside a magnificent straight drive off Cummins earlier in the session.
