Hyderabad pacer Mohammed Siraj was bought by the Gujarat Titans in an IPL 2025 auction as the franchise shelled out a whopping Rs 12.25 crore for his services. The bowler was let go by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before the mega auction, which marked the end of his time with the franchise.
Although he was one of the main players for RCB, the team that should have been bidding for him did not and even declined to use the Right to Match (RTM) card.
The bidding war on Siraj was very close; however, the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings were being fierce before they were joined by others. But CSK pulled out of the bidding process just before its bid went above Rs 10 crore. Rajasthan Royals (RR) then joined the party and the bidding war between GT and RR pushed the price of Siraj from his minimum bid of Rs 2 crore up to Rs 12.25 crore.
At last, it was the Gujarat Titans who won and bought Siraj for Rs 12.25 crore. The recent bid strategy indicated that the team’s core objective of the present IPL season is to assemble well-rounded talent as quickly as possible. Siraj joining the team will for sure strengthen their bowling lineup, and he should be aiming to make a major contribution in the tournament.
The rising fame of Siraj as a potential high-talent, aggressive, and consistent bowler is well proven by his sale at the price of Rs 12.25 crore. Even though Siraj was released by RCB, his market demand is still high and he will be expecting to fulfill his worth with the new team, the Gujarat Titans, in the next IPL session.
