Chennai Super Kings have bought Afghanistan’s young spin sensation Noor Ahmad. Noor was signed by the Yellow Army in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction held in Jeddah for a whopping amount of ₹10 crore. I believe that such a considerable investment is possible due to the trust that CSK has in Noor’s skills.
The bid of Noor was very aggressive and finally the Gujarat Titans (GT) used Right to Match (RTM) at ₹5 crore. Nonetheless, CSK kept bidding heavily and, in the end, had bid with more than GT. When GT stepped out of the bidding war, CSK signed the player Noor for ₹10 crore.
This acquisition is a real boost to the CSK spin department, as they have managed to include such a talented player like Noor Ahmad. He is a young spinner from Afghanistan and has quite established himself in international cricket and his skills would be a boon for CSK in the following IPL season.
Noor Ahmad’s IPL and T20 stats
The Gujarat Titans got a good performance from Noor Ahmad. He played 23 games in which he took 24 wickets at an average of 27.45. His economy rate was 8.03, which describes how he managed his resources in terms of both conceding runs and taking wickets.
Noor’s T20 statistics also paint a similar picture in terms of performance and contribution to the team. He has taken 137 wickets in 122 matches, consuming an average of mere 23.08. His economy rate is 7.16, which means he is an economical bowler and pick wicket at the same time. He has taken 50 wickets with nine dot balls in total in T20; Noor has also taken two four-wickets and one five-wicket haul.
Due to his wicket-taking and bowling miserly nature, he will play a vital role for the Chennai Super Kings in the forthcoming IPL tournament.
