Dhruv Jurel, a budding Indian cricketer, displayed his incredible reflexes to grab a crucial wicket for India against Mitchell Starc over the tea break. It was Australia’s eighth wicket in the innings, with India now inching their way to a memorable victory at Perth. Offspinner Washington Sundar bowled an angled length delivery into Starc, who was trying to flick it off his pads for a leg-side boundary.
Short leg Jurel was so agile that he took a sensational one-handed catch with his right hand. He seemed to catch the ball behind him, but he held onto it, shocking the Australian team. Jurel was mobbed by his teammates off the catch as the umpires decided to offer tea, with India being very much in command.
Jurel’s catch, both spectacular and well taken, did well in getting the wicket of Starc and lifting the morale of the side. On the faces of the beleaguered Australians under relentless pressure from their hosts, there would be a sense of foreboding for them as India now would want to ride on this supremacy and take away the historic win at Perth.

The Indians were even closer to taking the match after the brilliant catch by Jurel. It must be noted that Dhruv Jurel is a wicketkeeper, but he has played this match only as a batter; however, he proved that he is not just an excellent wicketkeeper but a brilliant fielders as well. The young lad has proved to be a good performer-of-late as he scored runs in the recently concluded series between Australia A and India A.
However, it didn’t turn out to be such a great match for him bat-wise. Jurel returned with scores of 11 and 1 across two innings. He will be dropped for the next match in Adelaide in favor of Rohit Sharma.
