Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have acquired Ajinkya Rahane for his base price of ₹1.50 crore at the auction.The right-hander last played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL. Rahane has represented six IPL teams since his debut with Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2008, where he spent two seasons.
He joined Rajasthan Royals in 2011 and made a mark in 2012, scoring 560 runs in 16 games, including a century and three half-centuries. He remained a key player for the Royals until their suspension in 2015.
In 2016 and 2017, Rahane played for Rising Pune Supergiant before returning to Rajasthan Royals in 2018 for two more seasons. He then moved to Delhi Capitals for 2020 and 2021, followed by a stint with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022, and represented Chennai Super Kings in the last two seasons.
Across 185 IPL matches, Rahane has amassed 4642 runs, including two centuries and 30 half-centuries. Here is the list of players sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) so far in the IPL 2025 auction:
