Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have assembled an impressive squad for IPL 2025. They spent a whopping Rs 75 crore on their five retentions. Skipper Pat Cummins was retained for Rs 18 crore, while Heinrich Klaasen became the most expensive retained player ever at Rs 23 crore. Young talents Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy were retained for Rs 14 crore and Rs 6 crore, respectively.
On the first day of the auction, SRH signed eight players, with Mohammad Shami and Ishan Kishan commanding significant sums. They acquired Mohammad Shami for Rs 10 crore, Harshal Patel for Rs 8 crore, Ishan Kishan for Rs 11.25 crore, Rahul Chahar for Rs 3.2 crore, Adam Zampa for Rs 2.4 crore, Atharva Taide for Rs 30 lakh, Abhinav Manohar for Rs 3 crore, and Simarjeet Singh for Rs 1.5 crore.
With only INR 5.15 crore left and a minimum of five slots to fill, SRH faced a challenging Day 2 at the auction. They managed to add Jaydev Unadkat, Brydon Carse, and Kamindu Mendis to their roster. By the end of the two-day mega auction, SRH had nearly exhausted their entire purse, with just INR 20 lakh remaining.
