Delhi Capitals (DC) made a splash at the IPL 2025 auction, spending a whopping ₹14 crore on KL Rahul, their most expensive acquisition. Other key signings include Mitchell Starc for ₹11.75 crore and T. Natarajan for ₹10.75 crore, aiming to build a balanced squad with a mix of experienced and uncapped players.
KL Rahul was a marquee buy, especially after DC chose not to use their Right To Match card for Rishabh Pant. Two other prolific batters, Jake Fraser-McGurk, who was bought back, and Faf du Plessis, released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, could potentially open the innings. Karun Nair, who hasn’t featured in the last two editions, was secured for INR 50 lakh.
DC also strengthened their bowling lineup with left-arm pacers Mitchell Starc and T. Natarajan. Mukesh Kumar and the seasoned Mohit Sharma add depth and variety to DC’s death overs strategy. This strategic blend of talent positions DC as a formidable contender for the upcoming season.
