Star Australian batter Travis Head scored the first century of the home summer, the milestone with a single off Ravichandran Ashwin on Day 2 of the second Test against India at the Adelaide Oval. The left-hander celebrated the achievement by dedicating it to his newborn son with a special gesture.
The moment came in the 72nd over when Head, a local favorite, guided the ball to short mid-wicket and completed a quick single. Having missed the limited-overs series against Pakistan due to paternity leave, the 31-year-old marked his return with this memorable ton for his son.

Travis Head’s century puts Australia ahead on Day 2 at the Adelaide Oval
South Australian Travis Head’s century pushed Australia’s lead beyond 100 on Day 2 at the Adelaide Oval. Starting the day at 86/1, the hosts faced early setbacks as Jasprit Bumrah struck twice in the first hour, dismissing Nathan McSweeney and Steve Smith.
Marnus Labuschagne fought valiantly for his 64 but was eventually dismissed by Nitish Kumar Reddy. Ravichandran Ashwin struck shortly after the dinner break, dismissing Mitchell Marsh, who surprisingly chose not to review despite clearly missing the ball that was caught behind by Rishabh Pant.
Earlier on Day 1, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first, but India’s innings faltered as Mitchell Starc spearheaded Australia’s bowling attack. The left-arm pacer claimed six wickets, limiting the visitors to a modest total of 180.
Australia finished the day in a commanding position, with Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne guiding the team to 86/1, trailing by just 94 runs at stumps in Adelaide.
